Drawing Matters Seminar — Thursday 1 February 2024

The Hôtel Torrentius in Liège will host a research seminar bringing together architects, artists, academic researchers and archive centres to explore the role of drawing in architectural thought and practice.

Marking the first collaboration between the University of Liège (Architecture Research Unit – URA), ETH Zurich and the Jeanne & Charles Vandenhove Foundation, the seminar ‘Drawing Matters / drawing practice as knowledge producer’ will explore the relevance of drawing as a tool for knowledge production within the context of a process of ‘research through drawing’.

The debate will be organised by the architects Martino Tattara (DOGMA, KULeuven), Adrien Verschuere (BAUKUNST, EPFL) and Jan De Vylder (AJDVIV, ETH Zurich), moderated by Carlo Menon (Accattone, ULB), with questions from Andrea Anselmo (UCLouvain-LOCI), Joris Kerremans & Hong Wan Chan (UGENT) and Maarten Van Den Driessche (UGENT), and with contributions from Christoph Fink, Drawing Matter, Oase, Giulio Paolini and Daniel Buren.
